Most Commonly Asked Questions
Can I Use My Own Packaging?
In some cases we do allow clients to use their own packaging for shipping. Please contact us to provide more information on your packaging needs, or reach out to your sales representative.
How Do You Handle Returned Orders?
We will follow return instructions that will be discussed with your account manager during the setup process. This may include restocking undamaged merchandise as well as consolidating or discarding any damaged merchandise.
Which Shipping Carriers Do You Use?
Canadian Fulfillment Service utilizes FedEx, DHL and the U.S. Postal Service (USPS). We offer several ship options, including USPS First Class Mail (domestic and international), USPS Priority Mail (domestic and international), FedEx Home Delivery, FedEx Ground, FedEx SmartPost, DHL Parcel Zonal Ground, DHL Expedited Max, DHL Parcel Plus Expedited, and DHL Parcel Zonal Expedited.
How Do You Charge For Storage?
We charge for storage by the cubic foot. To ensure our clients do not overpay for space they’re not utilizing, each week our software will calculate the precise amount of inventory on hand at that time. This means that if our client only has a half of a pallet of goods in our warehouse, they are only charged for a half of a pallet.
Do You Have Long-term Storage Fees?
No, we do not have a surcharge or higher fees associated with long-term storage. No matter how long our clients’ goods remain in our warehouse, they are charged the same rate for inventory storage.
Do You Have Any Maximum Or Minimum Storage Requirements?
Our clients are able to store as little or as much inventory as they prefer in our order fulfillment warehouse. Each SKU is assigned a bin, which is a single cu. ft, and overflow storage is figured beyond that.
What Happens If My Stock Arrives Damaged?
If any of your merchandise arrives to our facility damaged, we will photograph the item(s) and the corresponding packaging, and notify you immediately.
Can You Inspect Each Of My Items When You Receive Them?
Yes. Our receiving process involves inspecting a portion of your merchandise (generally 10-20%). We will also inspect items during the pick/pack process. However, if you would like us to inspect each of your items when we receive them, we can accommodate that request.
How Long Does The Receiving Process Take?
The receiving process typically takes 2-3 days. If we have several batches of new stock to process, it may take a day or two longer. When we receive your stock, we will count your merchandise to ensure the packing slip is accurate. In addition, we will inspect a portion of your merchandise as well as weigh and measure your SKUs for quality control purposes.
How Do I Prepare Inventory Shipments For Your Facility?
Please provide our receiving team with a master packing slip outlining what’s in your shipment. We also require a packing slip outlining the contents of each carton with each inbound shipment to our facility. The packing slip should clearly outline the associated SKUs and quantities. In addition, we do require scannable barcodes on each individual unit. If your merchandise arrives at our facility not properly barcoded, we can label it for you.
How Long Does Integration Take?
Integration typically takes one to two hours, depending on the size of your product catalog. It’s one of the first steps we take with new clients, and our in-house IT team handles the process quickly.
Do You Own and Operate Your Own Fulfillment Warehouse?
Yes. Canadian Fulfillment Service owns and operates our own facility in Canada, with our client services team located within feet of the warehouse floor. This is different from many fulfillment companies that contract out their warehousing, which can lead to inconsistencies, errors, and delays.
Are there setup costs, minimums, or hidden fees?
No. Canadian Fulfillment Service does not charge setup costs or integration fees, and there are no minimum order volumes, long-term contracts, or hidden fees.
Do you have restrictions on order volume?
No, we do not have any minimum or maximum order volume requirements. We work with merchants of all sizes, from startups to multi-channel sellers.
Which forms of payment do you accept?
We accept 3 forms of payment, including ACH withdrawal from a Canada. bank account, credit card, or a prepaid escrow account.
Do you accept returned orders from my customers?
Yes, you can direct your customers to return orders back to our facility. This can be done with the packing slip included in each order, as well as in your company return policy.
What shopping carts do you integrate with?
Canadian Fulfillment Service is integrated with over 35 shopping carts and platforms to make the order fulfillment process fast, automated, and easy for our clients. There is no cost for integrating our system with your cart or platform.
Do you have long-term storage fees?
No, we do not have a surcharge or higher fees associated with long-term storage. No matter how long your goods remain in our warehouse, they’re charged the same rate for inventory storage.
Do you offer international shipping?
Yes, we ship all over the world from our facility and utilize FedEx and USPS for international shipments.
How quickly do you ship orders once you receive them?
